MJF offers some clarification as to his reported raise.
After the AEW star cut a heated promo on the June 1 episode of AEW Dynamite, in which he told Tony Khan to fire him, he had been absent from programming for a number of weeks. He returned at AEW All Out, where he won the Casino Ladder Match. Since then, he has regained his place as one of the company’s top stars, as he has regularly appeared on AEW Dynamite.
In his first interview after the pay-per-view, the Dynamite Diamond Ring winner told Ariel Helwani that he received a substantial raise, without signing a contract extension, as part of his return. In the September 23 edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that he’s heard MJF is now making more than $1 million per year.
“The Salt of the Earth” commented on a tweet from WrestlePurists about the news and stated he’s earning “much more than” the reported amount.
