This Friday night on AEW Rampage: Grand Slam, HOOK will team up with Action Bronson to take on Angelo Parker and Matt Menard of The Jericho Appreciation Society.
The FTW Champion and his father, Taz, recently sat down with Joseph Staszewski of the New York Post to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When HOOK was asked about his relationship with Action Bronson, he revealed that he’s always looked up to Bronson and that it’s wild that the two of them have become friends.
“I always looked up to him,” HOOK said. “The way he constructs his career, I admire [him], and he inspires me in a lot of different ways. I’ve always been a massive fan of his. Now, having this relationship and this friendship with him, it’s really wild.”
Taz took the friendship term to another level, claiming Action Bronson to be like family to himself and HOOK.
“To me, Bronson’s like family,” Taz said. “We’re all that close.”
HOOK spoke about approaching Action Bronson to use one of his songs for his entrance music and was given access to his entire library, but knew after listening to “The Chairman’s Intent” that it was the one.
“Upon listening more and more, I just knew ‘Chairman’s Intent’ was the one,” HOOK said.
Taz went on to reveal that Action Bronson began training with himself and HOOK at Create A Pro almost a year ago, and The Human Suplex Machine saw something special in the pairing of Bronson and his son.
“That’s always stuck in my head,” Taz said. “Imagine getting two guys that have that kind of vibe, and that’s what I think when you see Hook and Action Bronson compete. You’re gonna see the Porsche and the tank. I promise you.”
The FTW Champion is a man of few words, but he’s confident in his tag team partner this week on Rampage.
“Dude’s a beast,” HOOK said. “He can go — straight up.”
