WWE NXT Takeover Results

Report: WWE NXT TakeOvers Expected To Return

NXT TakeOvers are reported coming back.

As first reported by Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, the upcoming NXT Halloween Havoc event is internally listed as a TakeOver, as WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H is bringing the name back.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful subsequently reported that TakeOver shows are coming. He cited sources who noted that Halloween Havoc will be a Premium Live Event on October 2022, whereas many of NXT’s specials over the past year were held on television.

The reported return of the TakeOver name comes after NXT revealed a new logo on the September 13 episode of the show, replacing the 2.0 look with a new one that paid homage to the Black and Gold era. A previous report noted that NXT was expected to “somewhat” return to Triple H’s previous vision.

As of this writing, the last NXT TakeOver, TakeOver 36, was held on August 22, 2021. Triple H subsequently stepped away from his duties in September due to health issues, and NXT was rebranded under the 2.0 banner. The show has not used the “TakeOver” name for its special events ever since.

On July 25, 2022, Triple H was named the head of WWE creative. Shawn Michaels, who has been running NXT ever since, was recently promoted to WWE Vice President of Talent Development.
