Trevor Murdoch: I’m Keeping An Eye On Thom Latimer, Eddie Kingston And I Could Have A Great Match

NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Trevor Murdoch has his eyes on some prospective challengers, and he also thinks he could have a great match with Eddie Kingston.

Murdoch recaptured the gold at NWA Alwayz Ready, and he successfully defended the title against Tyrus at NWA 74.

In an interview with WrestleZone, Murdoch was asked about potential challengers that he has an eye on, and he named Nick Aldis, Pope, and Thom Latimer.

“Within the company, obviously Nick Aldis is always a challenger,” Murdoch said. “I just finished having a match with Pope, and he was able to go toe-to-toe with me, so obviously you could throw him in the championship conversation. Another person that I think that I’ve got to keep my eye on and I have been is Thom Latimer. That dude’s got a vicious steak behind him, and not to mention his wife is the current NWA World Heavyweight Champion, so I’m sure they would like to become the new power couple at some point, so I’m keeping my eye on him for sure.”

When asked about Eddie Kingston, someone that Murdoch has named as someone that he’d like to face, the champion explained how he knows Kingston would give it his all to win the title. He also shared his belief that Kingston could represent the championship to its highest ability.

“With Eddie Kingston, the reason why I brought up Eddie Kingston is because Eddie’s one of those guys that you know 100% for sure will go out there and do whatever he can to win, especially if the prize is rich enough,” Murdoch said. “I have a lot of respect for that kind of mentality because I sure as hell am gonna do the same thing, so I think him and I hooking it up, we could probably have one hell of a match.

“I may be setting my own self up for failure and setting the next champion up, but at the very least, I know if I would lose to a guy like Eddie Kingston, I’d know that he would take that world title and represent it to its highest ability.”
