Becky Lynch: The Hardest Part About My Injury Was Missing WWE Clash At The Castle

Becky Lynch says the hardest part about her injury was being forced to miss WWE’s first stadium show in the United Kingdom in over 30 years, WWE Clash at the Castle.

At WWE SummerSlam, Lynch challenged Bianca Belair for the RAW Women’s Championship. During the bout, Lynch suffered a separated shoulder, and she has been sidelined since her appearance the following night on WWE RAW.

During an appearance on Out of Character with Ryan Satin, Lynch was asked to describe when the injury happened, and she made it clear that it occurred in the opening minutes.

“Yeah, I think like the first two minutes or the first three minutes or something,” Lynch said. “Yeah, and then I was like, ‘Oh, maybe I dislocated it, maybe it’ll click back into place.’ Then by the end of the match, I was like, ‘Oh, I’m out. I’m going to be out for a little while.'”

The former champion noted that the adrenaline carried her through the rest of the bout and the post-match angle. She also emphasized that she was disappointed that she had to miss WWE Clash at the Castle, but things happen.

“Yeah I think one, adrenaline carries you through, and then the fact that you’ve got over 40,000 people there watching you, you have millions of people watching at home,” Lynch said. “You love this, and you want to perform to the best of your ability, so you’re like well, can’t be any worse, so let me just go through it. The hardest part was knowing that I’m going yo miss the first pay-per-view in the UK in however long. So that was the realization that ah, frick. But things happen, and you can’t do anything about them. You can just respond. It’s the way they happen.”
