Chavo Guerrero says Vickie Guerrero stepped up and proved she had what it took to be an all-time great heel in the wrestling business.

During an appearance on the Wrestling Perspective Podcast, Chavo Guerrero was asked about Vickie Guerrero’s success as a heel and if he ever saw it coming. Chavo said no one really expected it, but credits Vickie for working hard and getting over.

“No. No, nobody really did, and she just kind of stepped up to the plate and really kind of did it on her own. We all kind of looked out for her a little bit, but she hit at the right time, and she was kind of the most popular heel in WWE for a minute. So yeah, more power to her, for sure. At the same time, she kinda had to reinvent herself also. Her husband and her money-maker was gone, so she had to figure out something to do, and she figured it out.”

Chavo was then asked if Eddie would have wanted her in the industry, and he doesn’t think that would have been the case.

“I don’t think so because he knew how the industry was. It’s a tough industry, it really is, and it’ll eat you up and spit you out, and it does. I’ve talked to Vickie a couple different times and she’s got some stories of being eaten up and spit out by some higher-ups up there. So I don’t think so, man. I don’t think he would have wanted his daughter in it. She was in it for a little bit. I can’t say that he would have fought her on it, but I think he would have tried to steer her into a different direction.”
