AJ Mendez, formerly known as WWE star AJ Lee, is taking it slow as far as her career in the wrestling world is concerned.
Lee retired from the ring in 2015, but she is returning to the ring as an executive producer and color commentator for WOW – Women of Wrestling.
In an interview with MMA Uncaged, when asked if the MMA bug never bit her, given the way her husband CM Punk ventured into the sport, she noted that she has had fun with different kinds of training. She stated that, when it comes to wrestling, people are trying to get her to do things, but she’s taking things one step at a time, starting with WOW.
“I mean look, I’ve loved training in all kinds of training,” said Lee. “So I’ve definitely gone to train, and it’s fun, but all of the bugs of wrestling and all those things, there’s definitely many people in my ear trying to get me to do things. We’re gonna take it slow. We’re gonna start with WOW. We’re gonna start with commentating and producing, and just one step at a time.”
