WWE RAW Results (8/29): Women’s Tag Team Title Tournament Finals, Kurt Angle Appears, More

In-Ring Segment: Sami Zayn and The Usos

The Usos look forward to Roman Reigns’ championship celebration this week on WWE SmackDown. They say that it’ll be a big celebration. Sami Zayn cuts in and says that Reigns has appointed him as the master of ceremony. Jey stares him down, so Zayn shifts gears and calls The Usos the most dominant tag team in WWE history. Jimmy says The Bloodline is running both shows. Kevin Owens comes out and says The Bloodline doesn’t run anything on Monday nights. He says RAW is still the Kevin Owens Show. He tells the trio to tell Reigns that he owes Owens one. Jey asks Zayn if Owens is “his boy” and tells him he should get him. Zayn explains that Reigns doesn’t owe anyone anything.  Owens says Zayn is making himself look stupid with the way he keeps letting The Bloodline so badly.

He praises Zayn as a great in-ring talent and says he considers Zayn a brother. He tells him to look in the mirror and reassess things. Zayn says he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He says Jimmy likes him, and they do a handshake.

He says he’s working on Jey, and he emphasizes that Reigns likes him. Jey says if Owens doesn’t turn around and walk away, they’re going to drop him.  Owens recalls how Jey and Paul Heyman are the only reason he didn’t beat Reigns 18 months ago. He gets in the ring, and Zayn tries to deescalate the situation. Owens get in Jey’s face and says it’s time to fight.

Kevin Owens vs. Jey Uso (with Jimmy Uso and Sami Zayn)

Owens takes the fight to Uso early on. Jey rallies and whips Owens hard into the corner. He punches the former Universal Champion and sends him into the corner again. The fight spills to the outside, where Jimmy distracts him. Jey blasts Owens with a superkick and plants him with a Samoan drop onto the steel stairs. Back in the ring, Owens drops Jey with a superplex. Owens and Jey trade blows. Owens hits a Swanton Bomb. Jey gets a two count with a frog splash. Owens blocks another splash and drills both Usos with superkicks. He climbs up top and his a frog splash for a two count. Zayn gets in Owens’ face distracting him long enough for Jey to dive onto them. Jey tells Sami to get a chair, but he refuses to hit Owens. The distraction costs Jey, as Owens drops him with a Stunner and pins him

Winner: Kevin Owens

The Usos are clearly frustrated, and Owens says, “Tell Roman I didn’t forget.”

Bayley says Bianca Belair has been holding the division back, and they’re going to lift the division up, starting this Saturday at Clash at the Castle. Kai says they’re going to take over the whole division.

In the parking lot, Miz is trying to leave. He brushes off Kevin Patrick, saying he doesn’t want to talk about Lumis. He drives away, and as he does, Lumis pops up in the backseat.

In a taped segment, Johnny Gargano expresses his excitement about his return. He says he was put on this planet to wrestle. As for Theory, he says Theory is like family to him. He notes that Theory’s success has affected him. Theory shows up and says he wants to talk. He asks Johnny why he didn’t call him when he won the United States Championship or the Money in the Bank briefcase. He says Gargano was jealous of his success. Theory notes he expected better, but it’s lonely at the top. He says Gargano is swimming with sharks now.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament Final: Dakota Kai and IYO SKY (with Bayley) vs. Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah

SKY gains an early advantage. Rodriguez and Aliyah gain the upper hand. Kai and SKY showcase their chemistry. Kai slams Aliyah into the steps and blast Rodriguez with a kick. SKY continues to control the action by grounding Rodriguez. The powerhouse rallies by throwing SKY into Kai. She headbutts SKY and takes the fight to both of her opponents. SKY gets a two count on Rodriguez. SKY drills Rodriguez with a series of strikes. Bayley helps SKY escape a powerbomb, and SKY capitalizes by stomping on the powerhouse. Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, and Asuka run to the ring, and they chase Bayley away. Aliyah tags in and pins Kai for the win.

Winners and new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions: Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah

After the match, Bliss, Belair, and Asuka celebrate with the new champions.
