Trish Stratus: It Will Never Not Feel Like Home Between Those Ropes For Me

Even though she initially retired from full-time competition almost two decades ago, Trish Stratus hasn’t stopped making magic for the WWE Universe.

WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus was recently interviewed by Ring the Belle to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about returning to compete in WWE following her retirement from full-time competition back in 2006, Stratus said it began in 2018 when she got a taste of competing again in the women’s Royal Rumble match.

“I went back for the Royal Rumble, had a little taste,” Stratus said of her appearance at the Women’s Royal Rumble in 2018. “Then I went back for Evolution. Me and [Lita] tagging was perfect, we got to do our thing as partners because we love that and it was cool to come back in that capacity. I wanted to see if I could go again and do a singles match. To get one of the best wrestlers of that time [Charlotte Flair] at that moment, perfect. I thought she was the best of her era. I’m the best of my era, some say. It would be something fans would like to see.”

Stratus also spoke to ET Canada about her return on WWE RAW last night and made it clear that she will always feel at home between those ropes.

“It’s always a blast to return to the ring when WWE is in Toronto! There really is nothing like a hometown reception,” Trish Stratus said. “It will never not feel like home between those ropes for me!”

Trish Stratus retired from the ring in 2006 but she has come back for sporadic appearances over the years. She teamed with John Morrison and Snooki to defeat Dolph Ziggler & LayCool at WrestleMania 27, and she’s competed in four matches since the aforementioned Royal Rumble appearance in 2018.

To date, Trish’s final match was against Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam in 2019, but she and Sasha Banks have continued to tease working with each other over the years.
