MJF‘s absence from All Elite Wrestling might be ending at some point soon.
“The Salt of the Earth” hasn’t been seen on AEW TV since the June 1 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he cut a heated promo on company president Tony Khan and asked him to fire him. AEW subsequently removed MJF from all promotional material, and he has rarely been referenced on AEW TV.
However, in the August 19 edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that the Dynamite Diamond Ring winner is expected back soon. He noted that the exact timeframe is unclear, but with negotiations for a new television deal expected to begin in the next few months, the company will likely aim to maximize its ratings.
MJF had reportedly been frustrated with his contract, and on multiple occasions, he has made it clear that he intends to listen to the highest bidder when he hits the open market in 2024.
