Kris Statlander Provides Injury Update, Says She’ll Be Out 6-8 Months

Kris Statlander is out of action until 2023.

All Elite Wrestling’s Kris Statlander appeared on the latest episode of “Road To” on YouTube to provide an update on her recent injury. Statlander unfortunately suffered a torn ACL and a broken leg, which will put her out of action for six to eight months.

“Last week, we did a live Rampage in Grand Rapids, Michigan, I believe. We filmed some Dark matches, and I did a big boot, which I don’t really do often, but I decided to do it today. When I landed, my foot, my knee buckled on me, and after getting an MRI, I have a completely torn ACL. My lateral meniscus is torn, and there is lateral impaction fractures in my tibial and femoral heads. So just tiny little cracks that are more of a bruise, but still technically a broken leg.”

“I’ve had a similar injury with my left leg. This is my right leg. So my good knee went bad, but what’s weird with that—with the first one, I was in so much pain and I couldn’t walk. Then with this one that just happened, I didn’t really have as much pain. It was uncomfortable. But then after about 24-36 hours, I was able to walk around on it fine. Little to no swelling, so we were really hoping for the best, and it turned out to probably be the worst. So recovery time is about six to eight months post-operation. Once we got the MRI, we were hoping it was just a meniscus tear that would have either been maybe a few weeks to like three months at most. But now that we know the ACL is completely torn—that’s the one you don’t want to get, children.”

When asked if she’s looking forward to coming back, Statlander responded, “Yes. Whenever my return is, I’m really looking forward to being able to feel it in the crowd. So thank you all for supporting me through this time.”

Statlander suffered the injury during her match against Sierra on the August 5 taping of AEW Dark. Before this setback, she was ranked second in the AEW Rankings.
