AEW Rampage Results (8/12/22): Bryan Danielson Returns

All Elite Wrestling will deliver an action-packed episode of AEW Rampage on August 12.

Tonight’s episode will feature the return of Bryan Danielson, who will take to the ring and address the AEW Universe following his rest and rehab from an injury. Also planned to appear tonight is Hook, who will speak as well. Elsewhere in the night, a handful of matches are set to take place, the biggest being a bout between Orange Cassidy and Ari Daivari.

The results are as follows:

  • It’s Bryan Danielson’s highly anticipated return to the ring, but it didn’t go as planned. Daniel Garcia interrupts Bryan Danielson’s interview and tells “The American Dragon” that he’s his hero. But then he brings up Danielson’s pattern of getting hurt and retiring, saying, “he retires, he returns, he retires, he returns.” Danielson fires back by making it clear that he’s tired of hearing about the Sports Entertainment “bullsh–“. Danielson tells Garcia that if he wants to be the best professional wrestler in the world, he’ll leave that to him.

Match 1: JAS (Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti) (c) def. Top Flight (Dante Martin and Skye Blue) via pinfall

In a title fight to open up the night, it was the defending JAS that took down Top Flight to hold onto the title. The duo walked away with a relatively quick win after Tay Melo knocked out Skye Blue with the Tay-K-O late in the match to win.

Following the bout, Guevara accepted  Eddie Kingston’s challenge for a match at All Out.

Match 2: Parker Boudreaux def. Sonny Kiss via pinfall

In another relatively quick match, Boudreaux took down Kiss after just a handful of moves. Kiss was seen talking to Daivari before the match started, and was quickly knocked down and out by Boudreaux for the win afterward.

Match 3: Gunn Club def. BeardHausen (Danhausen/Erik Redbeard) via pinfall

In yet another quick match, it was Gunn Club who displayed the strength and athleticism necessary to take down the duo of BeardHausen. Things came to an end after Billy Gunn helped his team out by pulling the ropes down on Redbeard as he was setting up a big hit on Austin Gunn. This allowed Gunn to hit the Famouser on Danhausen for the win.

Following the match, Billy tells his sons that they need to shape up. When he walks away, Stokely gives Gunn Club his business card.

  • Reality TV star Zack Clayton confronts FTW Champion HOOK and challenges him to a match for next week.

Match 4: Orange Cassidy def. Ari Daivari via pinfall

In a stellar close to the night, Cassidy and Daivari put on a show, but it was Cassidy who was able to come out on top following a very late Orange Punch to the head that dropped Daivari and gave Cassidy just enough to finally end the match.

Following the match, Parker Boudreaux came into the ring and began demolishing everyone, leaving both him and Cassidy left standing in the ring. Before anything could happen, Sonny Kiss came running down, although in a shocking turn of events, instead of helping Cassidy, Kiss delivered a kick to the groin of the “Freshly Squeezed,” allowing Boudreaux to end the night with a powerful slam to Cassidy.
