Chris Jericho is a master at getting things over and he believes he could make anything work if he commits to it.
Jericho spoke with Attack Of The Show during San Diego Comic-Con about small ideas getting over, something he’s been able to do many times in his career. Jericho was asked how he’s able to command attention to things like The List, and he said it’s all about commitment, no matter how silly the idea might be.
“That’s just it, just committing to it. You get to a certain level and people just respond to it. I could walk to the ring with a candy corn nose [and get it over]. If you guys want one, I could make one for you. If I did that and played it completely straight,” Jericho noted, “you’d see fans in the crowd wearing candy corn noses.”
Jericho was also asked about a small thing that he appreciates in his career, and he said having fans just say they enjoy his work goes a long way.
“Probably just people saying they’re big fans of my work. They grew up watching me, they’re a big fan,” Jericho said. “When you have those moments, it’s really cool to know people appreciate your work and enjoy what you’re doing because that’s why I do it. I have a real responsibility to keep the people who are fans of my work entertained and keep them on their toes about what I’m going to do.”
Continuing the “small theme” (the interview had a ‘tiny questions with a tiny mic’ gimmick), Jericho said that he’s a small threat when it comes to board games.
Jericho challenged Jon Moxley for the Interim AEW World Championship on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite. Check out full results from this week’s show here.
