Ciampa sees something special in the works.
Speaking on the August 10 episode of WWE’s The Bump, Ciampa spoke about his current storyline with The Miz. The former NXT Champion said that he feels like things are just getting started and sees their relationship being a talking point years from now.
“I really feel like what Miz and I have going right now, it’s at the tip of the iceberg. I know some people don’t quite understand it, or I’ve heard often, ‘Why would Ciampa align himself with The Miz? That’s not my Ciampa.’ I say over and over to their people, well you don’t know your Ciampa then. What I appreciate is somebody who’s in the grind, who’s overcome. I can’t think of somebody more deserving of a spotlight than a guy like Miz. Since I’ve come to Monday Night RAW, all I’ve said is, I will maximize my minutes, and I want opportunity. It was hard to get eyes on me, and if you wanna get eyes on you, sometimes the easiest way to do it is stand next to the guy who everybody’s eyes are on. It’s worked.
“The proof’s in the pudding, man. If I’m not with Miz, I don’t to get to talk on social and RAW Talk and talk about Logan Paul. I don’t get to walk out the curtain at SummerSlam, and I likely don’t get positioned into the tournament where I’m facing AJ Styles. This is all the Miz factor, man. He’s larger than life. He’s must-see, he’s everything he says he is. We’re just getting started. The story with us two is gonna be a story people are gonna talk about years from now.”
