Malakai Black Details Recent Injury That Convinced Him He’d Be Forced Into Retirement

Malakai Black nearly thought he’d have to quit wrestling.

Black posted a new TikTok video and shared that he’d been dealing with a back injury for the better part of a year, and it was serious enough that he believed he would have to retire. Black explained that he was able to rehab and recover from the setback, noting that it took him a year to start feeling good enough to start deadlifting again.

Black writes:

Till about 3 months ago I was dealing with a back injury I was convinced was going to force me into retirement, but after a literall year of treatment that went from working to complete failure on several occassions we all of a sudden hit the correct vertebrae during a dry needling session and everything released. From there we were able to rehab and strengthen. You can check video 2 for this horrendous view and my personal reaction to it. However, allowing me now a few months later to slowly move back into deadlifting and a few more compound moves. #deadlifting #recovery #injury #rehab #dryneedling #malakaiblack #houseofblack #prowrestling

Black last competed on the July 15 episode of AEW Rampage. His House Of Black stablemate Brody King will face off with Darby Allin in a Coffin Match on this week’s “Quake By The Lake” edition of Dynamite.
