The field for the upcoming WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament has been revealed, so the eight teams that will be competing for the vacant belts have been confirmed.
WWE vacated the titles after the company suspended Sasha Banks and Naomi following their walkout in May. The company hadn’t announced more information about the tournament to crown the new champions until the August 5 episode of WWE SmackDown,
During the August 8episode of WWE RAW, the full bracket for the tournament was revealed ahead of the matches kicking off tonight. The teams in the bracket are Tamina & Dana Brooke, Iyo Sky & Dakota Kai, Alexa Bliss & Asuka, Nikki A.S.H. & Doudrop on one side, with Raquel Rodriguez & Aliyah, Xia Li & Shotzi, Nikkita Lyons & Zoey Stark, and Natalya & Sonya Deville on the other. By competing in the tournament, Lyons and Starks will make their debuts on the WWE main roster.
The tournament is set to kick off on Monday with a match between Dana Brooke & Tamina taking on Dakota Kai & Iyo Sky, both of whom made their returns to the WWE just a few weeks ago and are already looking to make a big splash.
The bracket is as follows:
- Dakota Kai & IYO SKY vs. Tamina & Dana Brooke
- Alexa Bliss & Asuka vs. Nikki A.S.H & Doudrop
- Xia Li & Shotzi vs. Raquel Rodriguez & Aliyah
- Nikkita Lyons & Zoey Stark vs. Natalya & Sonya Deville
