Bobby Lashley Enjoys Working With Younger Talent, Wants To Bring Them To The Next Level

Bobby Lashley views it as his responsibility to bring the next level of WWE stars up and help them however he can.

In an interview with Scott Fishman of TV Insider, “The All Mighty” was asked about working with young talent and elevating them. In response, he noted that The Hurt Business was all about lifting people up, and now he’s trying to do so by teaching young talent. He used Theory as an example, stating that he has a bright future, but he needs to be humbled.

“That’s what the Hurt Business was about,” said Lashley. “When I first came in, I had Bob Holly, JBL [John “Bradshaw” Layfield], Booker T, Fit Finlay — all these guys to learn from. The ones I had to get in the ring with. Now that I’m back, I feel like I’m that guy. MVP is that guy. There are so many of us who are that guy and bring this next level of talent — Riddle, Theory, Apollo, Ricochet — up. That is what the Hurt Business was about.

“I like being in the ring with these guys. Theory has an amazingly bright future ahead of him. That kid is super talented. It’s my responsibility to humble him and help him understand the business.”

Lashley defeated Theory to retain the WWE United States Championship at WWE SummerSlam. He is set to defend the title against Ciampa on the August 8 episode of WWE RAW.
