Jordynne Grace On Facing Mia Yim: I’m Excited To Put Myself To The Test, We Both Have A Lot To Prove

Jordynne Grace is looking forward to defending the IMPACT Knockouts World Championship against Mia Yim at the Emergence event on August 12.

Grace won the gold at the Slammiversary pay-per-view in June, and the match against Yim will be one of her first major tests as the champion.

Speaking with Iridian Fierro of WGN Radio 720, the champion was asked whether she’s nervous ahead of the bout.

“A little bit,” Grace said. “I haven’t wrestled Mia in a long time. I know that we’ve both gotten better since we wrestled eight years ago, so I’m mostly just excited to put myself to the test, and I’m really up for the challenge.”

Grace went on to describe how she and Yim have a lot to prove in their own ways.

“Definitely. I think, especially in this case, me and Mia both have a lot to prove here,” said Grace. “I’ve only been champion for a couple months now. Obviously I wanna keep it going and go way longer than this, and I’ve been champion once before, and I want this reign to be completely different than my first one was. Mia, she’s coming back from WWE, where I think she was underutilized, and I think that she kinda wants to prove that they made a big mistake in not utilizing her to her full potential.”

The updated card for IMPACT Wrestling Emergence is available here.
