Lex Luger details his WWE Hall of Fame hopes and talks about his current physical health.

Lex Luger used to be known as The Total Package. As one of the top stars of the 1980s and 1990s, Lex Luger’s persona was defined by his physique but unfortunately, a spinal stroke that he suffered 15 years ago severely limited his mobility, and today, he mostly gets around using a wheelchair.

However, Luger says he feels as though he is in good shape these days and even says that if he was given the honor of being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, he would consider coming out of his wheelchair for that moment.

“It’s mind-boggling. I’m in phenomenal health,” Lex tells Sports Illustrated. “Other than my mobility issues from my spinal cord issue, I’m very healthy, and that’s a miracle of God after what I put my body through. I usually use a wheelchair or a walker, but I can walk some.

“I have great mobility; I drive,” he continued. “But you know how your power will go out for a moment during a storm? That can happen to me, and I’m on the floor before I know it. So I take a lot of precautions. I live totally independently, which wasn’t supposed to happen. I don’t look the same because I don’t hit the weights like I used to, but I’m healthy.”

“I might pop out of the chair for that. I would take that chance if that moment comes. That honor would be the cherry on top of my career,” said Luger in regards to a potential WWE Hall of Fame induction.

Lex Luger has not wrestled in WWE since 1995 and he has not wrestled at all since 2006. Lex will be the subject of the next episode of A&E Biography: WWE Legends.
