Conor McGregor To Make Acting Debut In ‘Road House’ Remake

Former UFC star Conor McGregor is getting into the world of acting as part of the upcoming Road House reboot with Jake Gyllenhaal.

Deadline is reporting that Conor McGregor has joined the cast of Prime Video’s remake of Road House. He will join a cast that already includes Jake Gyllenhaal, Billy Magnussen, Daniela Melchior, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Lukas Gage, Hannah Love Lanier, Travis Van Winkle, B.K. Cannon, Arturo Castro, Dominique Columbus, Beau Knapp, and Bob Menery.

While it’s currently unknown what character Conor McGregor will play, it’s being reported that it will be an original character, and he won’t be appearing as himself.

The following is a description of the rebooted movie from Deadline:

“The new take follows a former UFC fighter (Gyllenhaal) who takes a job as a bouncer at a rough-and-tumble roadhouse in the Florida Keys, but soon discovers that not everything is what it seems in this tropical paradise.”

The original Road House was released in 1989 and starred Patrick Swayze, and it also featured WWE Hall of Famer Terry Funk in a prominent role.

At one point, current WWE Superstar Ronda Rousey was attached to star in the Road House remake, but things never got off the ground. Why things fell through for that original vision with The Baddest Woman on the Planet is currently unknown.
