Bianca Belair Calls Her WWE SummerSlam Redemption, Tells Bayley ‘Bring It’

Bianca Belair finally redeemed her WWE SummerSlam 2021 loss, and in the process, she gained a powerful new ally.

At WWE SummerSlam 2022, “The EST” defeated Becky Lynch to retain the RAW Women’s Championship, one year after the latter beat her in 26 seconds to end her reign as the SmackDown Women’s Champion. Belair previously dethroned Lynch to avenge herself at WrestleMania 38, but their clash on Sunday was an opportunity to close that chapter of her story, and the champion captalized.

In a WWE Digital Exclusive, Belair discussed the victory and the lows she felt after her loss last year. She also described how she’s glad she was able to score the special win in her home state.

“This was definitely redemption for me,” said Belair. “I wanted to write this final chapter in my SummerSlam story. You know, last year, losing to Becky in 26 seconds was one of the most lowest moments in my career. I put on a brave face for all of my EST-ies out there, my fans, but best believe, after that match last year, I went and cried in a car, so it’s a whole full circle this year.

“I’m just glad I was able to do it in Tennessee, in my home state, show that I am ‘ The EST of Tennessee’ and walk out as RAW Women’s Champion.  And that’s not talking about this 26 seconds from SummerSlam. I walked out as RAW Women’s Champion, and now it’s a homecoming, and I get to go celebrate with my family and all the fans. ”

After the match, Lynch surprised Belair and the fans by offering the champion a handshake. When asked about this moment, “The EST” noted that despite their rivalry, they respect each other.

“I mean it’s a been a year long feud that we’ve been going through, so at the end of it all, I respect Becky so much, for what she does for women and WWE, inside the ring, outside of the ring,” said Belair. “We’ve thrown it down time and time again, so she put that hand out there, and there’s a mutual level of respect.”

The wrestling world is still buzzing about the post-match showdown between Belair and the trio of Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY. When asked about the group, “The EST” stated that she’s the face of a new generation, and with Lynch on her side, she’s ready for anything.

“Listen, understand that I’m kind of at the forefront of a new generation of women in WWE,” said Belair. ” So if these women want to come through, Bayley, Io, Dakota, well let’s bring it, then. I got Becky Lynch on my side now, let’s see what happens.”
