AEW Rampage Results (7/29/22): Ruby Soho Takes On Anna Jay

All Elite Wrestling will deliver an action-packed episode of AEW Rampage on July 29.

The “Fight for the Fallen” edition of the show will feature Claudio Castagnoli taking to the ring to speak for the first time since his ROH World Championship victory at Death Before Dishonor. Elsewhere in the night, Orange Cassidy will team up with the Best Friends to take on Sonjay Dutt, Jay Lethal, and Satnam Singh, and Ruby Soho will face off against Anna Jay in a singles match.

The results are as follows:

Match 1: Orange Cassidy & Best Friends def. Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh & Sonjay Dutt via pinfall

In a stellar opening match, it was the cool group of Orange Cassidy and the Best Friends who would walk out on top after Cassidy put away Lethal with an Orange Punch late in the match.

Following the win, Satnam Singh attacked Cassidy, holding him in place for a Lethal Injection. However, Wardlow came running out, and scattered all three opponents before Sonjay took his men and left.

Match 2: Ethan Page def. Leon Ruffin via pinfall

In a relatively quick bout, Page did away with Ruffin almost immediately, throwing him around like a ragdoll before ending things with the Ego’s Edge for the immediate and dominant win.

Match 3: Lee Moriarty def. Matt Sydal via submission

In another relatively quick win, it was Moriarty who would come out on top after the two superstars duked it out for a short while. In the end, Moriarty was able to get Sydal on the ground before stretching him out in the center of the ring and forcing Sydal to tap.

  • Claudio Castagnoli came out to discuss his recent win at ROH Death Before Dishonor to become the new ROH World Champion, and ended up calling out Wheeler Yuta to come join him. Yuta came down to the ring to chants of his name, but Jericho quickly got enraged by it, and left his station at the announcement desk to storm down to the ring.In the ring, after arguing back and forth for a bit, Jericho challenged Yuta to a match at next week’s episode of Dynamite. Should Yuta win, he would get Jericho’s shot at the Interim AEW World Championship against Jon Moxley. Yuta was quick to accept, setting the stage for a big match.
  • Claudio Castagnoli will defend his ROH World Championship against Konosuke Takeshita at Battle of the Belts III on August 6, 2022

Match 4: Anna Jay def. Ruby Soho via submission

The main event of tonight’s AEW Rampage saw Anna Jay use some underhanded tactics to walk out with a surprise win. Despite Soho controlling most of the match, it was Jay who would survive just long enough to use a cast in a winning effort. Towards the end of the match, Jay trapped the cast in between her arm and Soho’s neck, pulling Soho back and holding her in a chokehold until Soho was knocked out.
