Ciampa says timing is everything.
While speaking to Ringside Collectibles at San Diego Comic-Con, Ciampa revealed that his SummerSlam gear is going to be something you might typically see on The Miz.
“At SummerSlam, the stuff that we have being made as far as gear—way different for me, definitely in The Miz’s realm. I’m so excited. I saw a couple photos and glimpses of what it’s going to look like. It’s freaking unreal. It’s awesome.”
In regards to his new role on WWE’s flagship show, Ciampa said the timing was right.
“This whole Monday Night Raw experience for me so far, it’s like life, timing is everything. And the pandemic allowed me a lot of time at home with my little one when she was just born and those early years are so important. She’s turning four soon. She’s really starting to evolve, get into this, might bring her on the road with me sometimes. This whole experience, the timing, what I’ve learned from NXT and and 2.0, there’s a lot of dream matches and scenarios waiting for me on Monday Night Raw, and I’m so excited that we’re doing it right now.”
When asked about who we wants to work with, Ciampa named several top stars currently seen on Monday nights.
“Logan Paul is going to be a really fun time because he’s got a lot of it-factor and charisma to him. Then there’s a lot of guys, like I just had a weekend loop of live events where I was wrestling AJ Styles each night for some lengthy time. And that’s a guy I’ve never wrestled with before so the chemistry was amazing and was instant. I look at Seth Rollins. I really admire his work. He’s on the road with me a lot. He’s a guy I would love to get in there with. Getting back in there with KO [Kevin Owens]. Sami Zayn and I have this crazy chemistry that’s never been seen on television. Rey Mysterio is a freaking legend if I could ever tie up with him.”
The former NXT Champion elaborated that the opportunity to work with his bucket list of opponents is what drew him to the main roster. “That’s really what drew me to it too right now. I was looking at the bucket list of ‘man, I wanna be on every pay-per-view. I wanna wrestle a whole plethora of guys’ and there’s only one place to do that. It’s Monday Night Raw, SmackDown, pay-per-view, there’s all of it. So it’s at the right time and I’m in the right place to be doing it.”
