Seth Rollins Comments On His Match With Riddle Being Pulled From SummerSlam

Seth Rollins thanks fans for always singing his song.

On Wednesday, WWE announced that Seth Rollins versus Riddle was being pulled from the SummerSlam lineup due to an injury. According to WWE, Riddle suffered a “brachial plexus injury” (aka a “stinger”) during a recent attack by Rollins and was not cleared to compete on Sunday.

Rollins took to Twitter to comment on the late change, noting that he worked really hard to make it to SummerSlam and he was sorry to the fans looking forward to seeing him in Nashville.

“For anyone who purchased a ticket to #SummerSlam hoping to see me in action, I apologize. I did everything I could over the last 6 months to earn my spot on this show, but some things are out of my control. Thank you for always singing my song. They’ll hear ya someday,” Rollins wrote.

Rollins has competed at the last eight consecutive SummerSlam events; no match replacement has been announced yet. The last time Rollins appeared at a SummerSlam event in a non-wrestling capacity was in 2013 when he was in Dean Ambrose’s corner for his United States Championship match against Rob Van Dam.

According to a new report, the injury to Riddle is in storyline only. Read more about why WWE pulled the match and when they plan to have the Seth Rollins vs. Riddle match take place at this link.
