The summer weather is heating up, and the competition will be hotter than ever at WWE NXT Heatwave.
On the special episode of NXT 2.0 on August 26, Mandy Rose will defend the NXT Women’s Championship against Zoey Stark. The broadcast team confirmed the news during the July 26 episode.
Stark earned a title shot by winning a battle royal on the July 19 episode; this marked her return to the ring from a torn ACL/MCL. She had been sidelined since she went down with the injury during Halloween Havoc on October 26.
On the July 26 episode, Stark discussed her return and her road to recovery. Rose and Toxic Attraction interrupted, and when Stark challenged the champion to have the match that night, she refused. Instead, Gigi Dolin stepped up and faced Stark, who picked up the decisive win. After the bout, the challenger sent Toxic Attraction running; Jacy Jayne tried to attack her, but Stark left her lying.
