Bryan Danielson Announces His AEW In-Ring Return, Will Compete On 7/27 Dynamite

Bryan Danielson is ready to kick someone’s head in and he’ll get the chance to do that on Wednesday night.

During a panel appearance from All Elite Wrestling talent at Saturday’s San Diego Comic-Con event, Bryan Danielson announced he would finally return to the ring and compete on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Danielson said he would be facing off with Jericho Appreciation Society member Daniel Garcia, and couldn’t wait to kick his head in.

“Wednesday, I’ll be wrestling Daniel Garcia,” Danielson told the crowd gathered at Comic-Con. “…and I’m going to kick his f-cking head in!”

Bryan Danielson has not wrestled since he competed at AEW Double Or Nothing in the “Anarchy In The Arena” match on May 29. He was also originally scheduled to compete in two more matches (at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door against Zack Sabre Jr. and Blood & Guts) but he was ultimately pulled because he was not cleared to compete. Danielson reassured fans and said that he would be back soon enough; Claudio Castagnoli ultimately joined the Blackpool Combat Club and replaced Danielson in both matches.

Shortly after the Comic-Con announcement, Danielson’s return match was confirmed during the ROH Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view. The July 27 episode of AEW Dynamite is the first night of AEW’s annual “Fight For The Fallen” event theme.

Days after his in-ring return takes place, Danielson will reunite with former Talking Smack co-host Renee Paquette at Starrcast for a live episode of her The Sessions podcast.

Several other wrestling personalities such as Kevin Nash, Paige, Matt Hardy and others will be on-hand for stage shows at Starrcast in Nashville. The fifth Starrcast event will be centered around Ric Flair’s last match and several events in honor of “The Nature Boy.” Check out the latest details on everything coming to Starrcast V at this link.
