Seth Rollins On Potential Shield Reunion: I Don’t Think It Will Happen Until We’re Inducted Into The Hall of Fame

Seth Rollins says fans shouldn’t expect to see The Shield team up together ever again.

The trio of Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Dean Ambrose (now known as Jon Moxley) debuted at WWE Survivor Series 2012. They quickly established themselves as three of the brightest stars in WWE before the group broke up in 2014. The stable reunited a few times over the years, but the three men have since firmly solidified their individual identities.

Speaking with Stephanie Chase of Digital Spy, Rollins shared his belief that The Shield won’t reunite because they don’t need each other anymore. Plus, any attempt to recreate it wouldn’t look right.

“I can say that, and maybe this might come back to bite me at some point, but I just don’t think you’re ever going to see the three of us team up ever again,” Rollins said. “It wouldn’t look the way you want it to look. It wouldn’t be like the old days in The Shield, it would be a different animal. I think we’re all just too big stars with too big personalities at this point.

“We needed each other back then and now none of us need the other one. We’re at a point where we’re all standalone stars on a different level. So to have to kind of minimize that to fit into each other’s moulds, I just don’t see it ever happening again. I think it would look a whole lot different than the next time you see us together.”

Rollins noted that the next time the fans see the three men together on WWE programing, it will likely be at their Hall of Fame induction.

“The next time you see us together it’s going to be when we’re inducted into the Hall of Fame,” he added. “That’s going to be it.”

Rollins and Reigns remain top stars in WWE, as the latter is the reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Moxley left WWE in 2019, and he has become one of the most prominent competitors in AEW. He is the reigning Interim AEW World Champion.
