Claudio Castagnoli Reveals He Actually Speaks Six Different Languages

Throw that five language nonsense out the window because Claudio Castagnoli can actually speak six.

All Elite Wrestling’s Claudio Castagnoli recently sat down with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated to discuss a wide variety of subjects. Early in his WWE career, Castagnoli was known as the man who could speak five different languages, but in reality…he can actually speak six.

“People say I speak five languages, but that’s not true,” Claudio Castagnoli said. “I speak six. What I do in the ring is a universal language. No matter what country it’s broadcast in, people can understand it. You don’t need subtitles. This is real, it’s me. Everything feels real and authentic. That’s the important part. With the amount of content out there now, if something is not authentic, then it doesn’t feel right. No matter what I do, it has to be authentic.”

Castagnoli made his surprise debut for All Elite Wrestling at Forbidden Door as a member of the Blackpool Combat Club to face Zack Sabre Jr. just three days later, he entered Blood and Guts and won the match for his team. When asked why All Elite Wrestling, Castagnoli said he came to the company to take on new challenges.

“I came to AEW for new challenges,” Claudio Castagnoli said. “That’s why I fit perfectly in the Blackpool Combat Club. Like [William] Regal said, ‘You either step up or get stepped on.’ I loved coming in with the BCC because I’ve known those guys for such a long time, and I know they have my back no matter what. It feels like everything here is clicking in AEW. It doesn’t feel like it’s only been a couple weeks. I’m extremely excited to find out what the future holds.”

When asked what goals he has left to accomplish in the world of professional wrestling, Castagnoli made it clear that his goal is to be in the main event and capture a World Heavyweight Championship.

“This is my pursuit—the main event and the world heavyweight championship,” Claudio Castagnoli said. “I’ve seen that pursuit destroy people. Those sacrifices ate them up, always seeking one more run. I’ve never sacrificed my authenticity or integrity. My destiny is my journey. I want to take fans on that ride, and hopefully win the world title along the way.”
