Logan Paul Explains Why He Signed With WWE, Says He’s Not A Heel Anymore

Logan Paul opened up about his decision to sign with WWE.

The social media megastar was featured on the road to WrestleMania earlier this year, and he made his in-ring debut at “The Showcase of the Immortals” in a tag team match where he and The Miz defeated Rey and Dominik Mysterio. The Miz attacked his partner after the match, and he hasn’t been seen live on WWE programming since. On June 30, WWE announced that Paul had put pen to paper with the promotion.

Speaking on his podcast, Impaulsive, Paul discussed noted that he was encouraged by the response to the move. He also described how the company checked off his three criteria for his career decisions.

“I signed a multi-match deal with the WWE, and we announced it,” said Paul. “It went crazy viral, and I love the response. People are excited to see me in the WWE. For me, there’s a trifecta that I look for that decides what I do, and I say this with privilege because I can do this now with years, decades of hard work I’ve put in. But when I can mix passion, business, and media all into one thing, I’m ultimate me, like happy place.

“So passion, when I did WrestleMania, I had so much fun. I just had fun. I came back to the locker room, all my friends had fun. We were all just smiling, like that was awesome. I’m looking at the clips, like I can’t believe that was me. Those were big jumps that I was doing there. And business, it’s smart, they pay well, WWE, it’s a big organization. And media, it’s a show, it’s a great performance and entertainment. So I’m excited for this journey.”

Paul went on to explain that he knows WWE can be a launching pad for him moving forward as it can help him build his brand and gain visibility.

“And I am well aware of how powerful it a launch pad it can be for whatever I want to do in life,” said Paul. “Because besides this show, my visibility online is not a lot. I’m not uploading on my main channel in YouTube like ever. I do this show every week and I’m doing this and that, but WWE is a good opportunity for me to leverage one of the biggest brands in the world for my own, should I show up. Should I work hard, go to the performances, impress the fans and just become that WWE character that is either notorious or loved. I don’t know if I’m gonna be a heel or a babyface.”

When asked whether he wants to be a babyface or a heel, Paul stated that he’s not a heel anymore, and he’s coming for The Miz at WWE SummerSlam.

I’m just not a heel anymore. But if they don’t f— with me…. But I will be coming for The Miz at SummerSlam. He wants to team up with me, he’s delusional, he thinks we’re still partners and we’re cool. We’re not. I take this very seriously and I will slam him hard. I will slam him hard.”

WWE has confirmed that Paul will be on the July 18 episode of WWE RAW.
