Jon Moxley will be in action on the July 13 episode of AEW Dynamite, which will be the first night of the Fyter Fest special.
In a tweet on July 11, Tony Khan announced that Moxley will face Konosuke Takeshita in an AEW Interim World Championship Eliminator Match. If Takeshita wins, he’ll earn a shot at the gold.
Moxley successfully defended the title against Brody King last week, while Takeshita is coming off a hard-fought loss to Eddie Kingston on AEW Rampage.
After @Takesoup’s amazing battle vs @MadKing1981,
AEW Interim World Champion @JonMoxley wants to fight Takeshita on #AEWDynamite!
While I won’t sanction it as a title match since Eddie won Friday’s bout,
if Takeshita wins Wednesday on TBS vs Mox then he earns a future title shot! pic.twitter.com/SeK9eNBKk4— Tony Khan (@TonyKhan) July 11, 2022
Update: Khan also announced that Wardlow will defend his TNT Championship against Orange Cassidy. Wardlow won the title by defeating Scorpio Sky in a Street Fight. Meanwhile, Cassidy is riding some momentum as he has defeated Ethan Page and Tony Nese in consecutive matches on TV.
