Marty Scurll Advertised For Santino Marella’s BattleArts Academy Event

Marty Scurll is returning to wrestling in Canada.

Santino Marella (Anthony Carelli) shared a promo video advertising Marty Scurll for an event on August 13. Scurll cuts a promo in the video and says he will show fans a side of himself that they’ve never seen before.

Marty Scurll was one of the people named during the Speaking Out movement in June 2020. Scurll was accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl backstage at an IPW: UK event in 2015.

Scurll initially addressed the accusations and admitted to what he believed was a “consensual” and legal encounter with the woman, noting the UK age of consent. Scurll later followed up with an additional statement claiming that they had met in a bar and he had no reason to question her age, but noted that “the reality of the age disparity is not lost on me” and said his immediate priority was to seek forgiveness and work to provide a safe environment for all fans.

Marty Scurll has worked sparingly since then, only working ten matches total. Scurll has mostly worked in Puerto Rico and Germany and Mexico, and only worked one match in the United States. Scurll was also reportedly set to participate in a set of March 2021 New Japan Strong tapings but he was later pulled due to fan backlash.
