Chris Jericho Recalls Being Ready To Bite Brock Lesnar’s Nose Off During 2016 Confrontation

Chris Jericho says he was ready to bite Brock Lesnar‘s nose off during their infamous backstage confrontation.

Lesnar’s match with Randy Orton at WWE SummerSlam 2016 was one of the most memorable main events in recent memory, as “The Beast Incarnate” won by blasting Orton with elbows to the head, busting him open in the process, until the referee awarded the former UFC star the victory via TKO. Jericho didn’t agree with the overly stiff style of the elbows, and his reaction led to a showdown between him and Lesnar.

During an appearance on the True Geordie podcast, Jericho recalled how he stood up to the former WWE Champion after the match.

“Yeah, I did, and I’d f—– stand up to him again right now in the moment,” said Jericho.

Jericho then recalled the incident and his emotions leading into his exchange with Lesnar.

“He was doing a match with Randy Orton, and he was basically like just butchering him with elbows to the head, and I didn’t know if it was planned or not,” said Jericho. “And nobody would tell me if it was planned or not. And listen, wrestling is a hard-hitting sport, but elbows to the side of the head can kill you. Your temple, if you get hit hard enough in the temple, you die. You ever heard of David and Goliath? That’s how Goliath died, from getting a f—— rock to his temple. So when he was hitting him with the elbows, I was just like if this is real, it’s bulls—. If it’s been called, it’s still bull—, he’s taking liberties, and it pissed me off. And I was in Gorilla and I was f—— angry about it and Brock came through, and he saw me angry about it and decided he wanted to come challenge me.

“And we got into a little bit of an issue and I was like f—- this guy. I don’t give a s— how big he is, I don’t f—— care. It’s f—— wrong, and I will fight to the death, I will stand up for what I believe in to the death. And I remember being literally nose to nose with the guy, and he’s laughing, he was actually saying things that would probably get him cancelled if I said them, like homophobic terms that you shouldn’t be saying. And I was like f— it, I’m gonna bite his f—— nose off. I’m gonna bite his nose off. I see this big giant fat nose, and I’m like if he comes any closer and takes a swing at me, I’m literally, I’m not even saying it as a tough guy, I’m literally going to bite his f—— nose off. And I can see it right now. And I remember King Haku had done that, he’s a good friend of mine, bit someone’s nose off once, and I’m like I’ll bite his f—— nose off, see how tough he is then. He might kill me, but he’s going to walk around for the rest of his life with no f—— nose. So that’s how it made me feel. I didn’t care about the whole homophobic thing, I don’t give a s—. I wasn’t falling for it. I was just, this has gone to the best level now. This is f——- kill or be killed, and I’m going to bite your f—— nose off. And then Triple H tried to break it up, and we both told him to f— off, which was hilarious.”

The AEW star then noted that Vince McMahon broke it up by telling him that the elbows were planned. Jericho emphasized that no one was saying anything about that prior to the match, so he didn’t know it was planned.

“And then Vince got involved and basically broke it up and told me that he had told Brock to do that,” said Jericho. “But no one else was saying anything before that. Whatever the reasoning was, that’s between Brock and Randy and Vince, it’s none of my business. But when it got down to the confrontation, it was real, and had it gone to the next step, I swear to god I would have bit his nose off. You can crush my face, but I will bite your nose off.”
