The Undertaker Addresses Significance Of ‘Never Say Never’ Line From WWE Hall Of Fame Speech

The Undertaker is retired, but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t return to the ring.

In a new interview with Graham “GSM” Matthews for Bleacher Report, The Deadman discussed whether or not he watches footage of his matches, particularly from his early days.

“I don’t go looking for it, I can promise you that,” Undertaker affirmed. “For being around for as long as I have, I have a lot of friends who have way too much time on their hands, and they will send me clips from my days in Memphis or even in Dallas. I’ll tell you who’s really good about that is Godfather. He’ll send me stuff because we met in Tennessee and that’s where we became such great friends.”

During his WWE Hall of Fame induction speech earlier this year, Undertaker notably concluded by saying, “Never say never.” He confirmed that the tease was simply just that.

“Just the fact you asked that question, mission accomplished,” he said. “You never say never. I don’t have aspirations of ever stepping into the ring again, but this is the WWE, man. You never say never. You just never say never.”

Undertaker added that the line was “a little bit for Vince” since Vince McMahon had asked him to be inducted a few years prior, but Taker didn’t feel ready to hang up the boots. Undertaker agreed to participate only if Vince did the induction speech.
