Ring of Honor World Champion Jonathan Gresham will be in action on the July 8 episode of AEW Rampage.
On the June 24 episode, Lee Moriarty staked his claim to a shot at the title before Tully Blanchard interrupted and stated that his clients had a better record, so they were more deserving. Gresham issued the challenge of himself and Moriarty facing two members of Tully Blanchard Enterprises, and they shook hands on the offer. However, it was unclear when the match would take place.
The following week, during a promo on Rampage, Gresham stated that he’s a man of his word, so he’ll face two of Blanchard’s best clients. Meanwhile, Blanchard, standing alongside the Gates of Agony (Kaun and Toa Liona), said that the champion would see what it’s like to face the best in the business. Gresham noted that fans may not be used to seeing him on television, but they’re going to get used to it because he’s the best technical wrestler in the world. He vowed to show the world just how “elite” he is next week.
