Santana suffered an apparent injury during the brutal Blood & Guts Match on the June 29 episode of AEW Dynamite.
In the main event contest, Santana teamed up with Ortiz, Eddie Kingston and the Blackpool Combat Club to face the Jericho Appreciation Society (Chris Jericho, Daniel Garcia, Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, and Jake Hager). Santana eventually entered the bout and took the fight to Daniel Garcia. But when he went for a uranage, he landed awkwardly on his leg and quickly fell to the mat. For the rest of his time in the match, Santana stayed close to the cage, seemingly talking to the officials before he was helped up the ramp.
Once the contest reached its climax on the top of the cage, Santana was helped to the back. Blackpool Combat Club ultimately emerged victorious when Claudio Castagnoli made Matt Menard tap out.
Prior to the Blood & Guts Match, Santana last wrestled in the Anarchy in the Arena match at AEW Double or Nothing on May 29.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
