Johnny Gargano Will Be In Chicago On Sunday, But It’s Just A Ridiculous Coincidence

Johnny Gargano will be in Chicago this Sunday, but not for the reason that most people would think.

AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door is set to take place at the United Center in Chicago, and it just so happens that Johnny Gargano will be in town for a meet-and-greet appearance at The Chicago Card Show.

“This Sunday (June 26th) I’ll be in Chicago at The Chicago Card Show presented by Midwest Sports Buffet! I’ll be signing autographs in the morning! For more info visit http://midwestsportsbuffet.com,” Gargano wrote.

Gargano was quick to point out that his appearance was booked months ago, and the timing was purely coincidental.

“I promise you this is ridiculously coincidental and has been booked for months. I’ll only be in Chicago for like 8 hours! *I also realize in saying this that only like 5% of you are going to believe I’m actually telling the truth,” Gargano added.

Gargano has not wrestled since appearing at NXT WarGames in December 2021, and he remains a free agent. In his absence, Gargano has been making in-person appearances at conventions, including Friday’s Major Wrestling Figure Podcast Live XIII in Baltimore, and the Chicago date on Sunday. In addition, “Johnny Wrestling” has also been spending time with his newborn son, Quill, and watching Bluey all day, every day.

Fans have wondered when and where Johnny Gargano will pop up next, and while he’ll be in Chicago for eight hours this weekend, it seems as if they’ll have to keep waiting a bit longer for his in-ring return.
