Logan Paul Says The Rock Cut All Ties With Him After Infamous ‘Suicide Forest’ Video

The Rock and Logan Paul used to be good friends, but a falling out occurred between the two men back in 2017.

In 2017, Paul posted a video of himself and a group of friends visiting Aokigahara, a forest at the base of Mount Fuji in Japan. The forest has gained the nickname of the “suicide forest” due to the large number of people who go there and end their lives. Paul’s video featured the body of a man who appeared to have killed himself, and the YouTuber was met with a huge amount of backlash. Paul later apologized and said he did not post the video to gain views, but intended for it to raise awareness for suicide prevention.

Logan Paul was recently a guest on the True Geordie Podcast to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked about the backlash from filming the suicide forest in Japan, Paul revealed one of the biggest names who turned their back on him was former WWE Superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

“After Japan happened, I obviously found myself in a hole — rightfully so — that I had never been in before,” Logan Paul recalled. “Extremely low, mentally, and I got a call from my publicist, who also repped Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. She’s like ‘Hey, Dwayne has asked that you remove every video and picture that you’ve done with him. Maybe in the future, the relationship can be reconciled, but for now, he basically wants nothing to do with you.’ Which I also understood. I get it. I made a grotesque error. He has had things happen in his life where that incident has affected him in a vastly different way.”

The Rock had gone on record before to talk about his mother’s suicide attempt when he was 15 years old, so it’s obvious this video from Paul struck a chord with the Hollywood actor. Regardless, Paul was hurt that The Rock wouldn’t reach out to him personally to talk about it.

“I feel like we had a healthy relationship, an open line of communication,” Logan Paul said. “I was so sad that my hero wanted nothing to do with me. I was sad because I understood it. I really f-cked up.” [H/T: TMZ Sports]

Paul went on to reveal that The Rock had recently reached out to him via Instagram DM and pretended as if nothing had happened, but he chose not to respond.
