KUSHIDA has returned to New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
At the end of the New Japan Road show on June 21, KUSHIDA confronted IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Taiji Ishimori after the main event; Ishimori defeated Hiromu Takahashi to retain the title. KUSHIDA stated that he signed with the company, and he plans to spend of his career wrestling in an NJPW ring.
The former WWE NXT star also made some backstage comments about his return:

KUSHIDA had a successful career with NJPW before left the company in 2019 and signed with WWE; he won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship six times, and he is a two-time Best of the Super Juniors winner. He also held the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship twice. His WWE contract expired this past April, so he subsequently became a free agent.
