Madison Rayne Broke Both Nasal Bones At IMPACT Slammiversary

Madison Rayne confirms an injury she sustained during her tag team title match at Slammiversary.

During IMPACT’s Slammiversary pay-per-view on Sunday, Madison Rayne broke both nasal bones in her face. The injury occurred while Rayne and Tenille Dashwood were defending the Knockouts World Tag Team Championship against Rosemary and Taya Valkyrie.

Rayne revealed the injury with a selfie on her Instagram story with the caption, “After Slammiversary last night. Broke both nasal bones. But at least @tenilledashwood and I looked *three fire emojis*”

The injury likely occurred in the middle of the match when Rosemary and Valkyrie whipped Dashwood and Rayne into each other before hitting simultaneous spears, resulting in Dashwood and Rayne colliding. Rosemary and Valkyrie were victorious in the title match, ending The Influence’s reign at 106 days.

Taya Valkyrie spoke with WrestleZone ahead of Slammiversary about the next chapter in her wrestling career and she said that she hoped to keep finding a new mountain to climb, but also keep adding to her already impressive resume.

“I feel like it’s a combination because I’ve always had kind of a career that has been a different path. I have not followed the conventional way of getting into wrestling by any means and really I’ve written my own story. So it’s kind of fitting that in a way, of course, this is what happens to me,” she explained, “but I also find motivation in all of it. I have something to prove to myself. I just had to remind myself of who I was. And so right now, it is about finding that new mountain to climb. But it’s also just kind of continuing my legacy and building, continuing my story.”
