AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa is returning to Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling.
On June 18, the company announced that Rosa will face Miyu Yamashita at the Summer Sun Princess ’22 show on July 9. This bout will be Rosa’s first TJPW match since January 2020, when she defeated Maki Itoh to win International Princess Title. Travel restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic prevented her from defending the title, so she relinquished it later in 2020.

Yamashita is a formidable opponent, as she is a three-time (Tokyo) Princess of Princess Champion in TJPW. She is also a former SHINE Champion and a former Ironman Heavymetalweight Champion with DDT Pro-Wrestling.
Rosa continues to star in AEW; she will defend her title against Toni Storm at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. She also accepted Taya Valkyrie’s challenge to a match after the later called her out at AAA TripleMania XXX: Tijuana.
