Vince McMahon appeared on the June 17 episode of WWE SmackDown, just hours after the company announced that he would be stepping back from his duties as the chairman and CEO of the company.
On June 15, the Wall Street Journal reported that McMahon is under investigation for a “hush pact” he reached with a former employee he reportedly had an affair with. The investigation also uncovered previous NDAs he reached with other former employees who made allegations of misconduct.

McMahon came to the ring on Friday night, with the crowd cheering him on for the duration of his entrance. Once he made it to the ring, he stated that it was a privilege to be in the ring in front of the WWE Universe. He then cited the tagline of WWE’s opening video for its shows, “Then, now, forever, together.” McMahon then left the ring without saying anything else.
