Matt Hardy will keep trying to help his brother be healthy and well.
Jeff Hardy was arrested on Monday morning in Florida, and Matt Hardy has since issued the following statement on Jeff’s arrest.
“It was disheartening to hear the news about my brother yesterday. Recovery isn’t a linear process & I’ll continue doing whatever I can to help my brother be healthy. Being healthy & well is the most important thing for Jeff, his wife, his children & our family at this time,” Matt wrote.
Jeff Hardy was arrested on June 13 and charged by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office on multiple charges, including a third DUI charge within 10 years, driving while his license was canceled/suspended/revoked, and violation of restrictions placed on his Driver’s License.
A subsequent report from Marc Raimondi of ESPN stated Hardy’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC) level test showed results of 0.294 and 0.291, more than three times the legal limit (0.08) in Florida. In addition, Hardy was described by the Florida Highway Patrol as appearing “in a stupor and confused”, adding that he could not successfully complete any sobriety exercises “without risk of falling.”
Jeff Hardy is scheduled to be in court on June 14 in relation to the charges. Hardy was originally scheduled to challenge for the AEW World Tag Team Championship on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite but he has been removed from advertisements since news of his arrest broke.
