Report: More Details On Confrontation Between Chris Jericho And MVP

More details have been revealed about the reported confrontation between Chris Jericho and MVP.

On June 10, Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the two stars had a heated interaction backstage after the May 18 episode of AEW Dynamite.

In an update, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that Fightful had heard about the confrontation around the time of AEW Double or Nothing, but few talent witnessed it, so specific details had been unclear. Sapp cited those close to the situation who noted that MVP and Jericho aren’t on good terms, and their issues stem from political and social issues that became public in a Twitter exchange. Sapp also wrote that, when asked, MVP stated that there was an “exchange”, but the previous reports inaccurately conveyed the true nature of the situation.

The report, like Meltzer, notes that MVP was visiting friends after the show, and when Jericho arrived, MVP approached him. Sapp cited some claims that MVP invited Jericho to handle their business outside, but the latter said that he “doesn’t fight jobbers.” Fightful asked Jericho about the situation, and he simply said that there’s nothing else to say, as he doesn’t fight jobbers.

Sapp’s report goes on to say that a WWE source claimed that WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis was called about the issue, but this aspect hasn’t been confirmed; AEW sources had not heard of this part of the situation.
