Nearly 20k tickets were sold for WWE Money In The Bank at the original venue of Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, NV before WWE decided to pull the plug and move the event to a smaller venue across the street. The venue sold over 45k tickets for SummerSlam last year and word was that WWE was hopeful to move somewhere between 25k and 30k tickets for Money In The Bank.
When it did not look like WWE was going to meet that number, the event was canceled and instead relocated to the MGM Garden Arena that only holds a little over 12k for wrestling events. That has unsurprisingly turned out to be a success as only premium higher-priced tickets remain as of this writing. Previous ticket purchasers were given first dibs at new tickets, although the pre-sale code leaked out which essentially gave everyone an equal opportunity at tickets.
WrestleTix has reported that 11,900 tickets have been sold for the event which currently has a capacity of around 12,100. The remaining tickets are premium priced tickets that fluctuate based on demand. With the demand so high right now, these tickets that may normally be priced between $100-200 are listed for $300-500 online.
The event is scheduled to compete head-to-head with UFC 276 that will take place at the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas. Plenty of tickets remain available for that event which is not cheap, as the highest row of the highest section is listed for $400.
Tonight’s WWE Premium Live Event in Chicago is a legitimate sellout with about 12,400 fans expected in attendance for Hell In A Cell. It is likely that Money In The Bank will also be a sellout which would make it 3 consecutive WWE premium events that sold out.
