Report: W. Morrissey Finished With IMPACT Wrestling

It appears that W. Morrissey‘s time in IMPACT Wrestling has come to an end.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, W. Morrissey has officially departed the company. His appearance tonight on IMPACT Wrestling, teaming with PCO to take on Moose and Steve Maclin, will be his last.

This would mark the end of a 14-month run with the company where Morrissey was allowed to rehab his image and turn himself into a commodity in the world of professional wrestling once again.

Morrissey recently appeared on the May 4 episode of AEW Dynamite in Baltimore, where he had a good showing taking on Wardlow as a paid henchman of Maxwell Jacob Friedman. It was reported following his appearance on All Elite Wrestling that WWE had renewed interest in bringing the former Big Cass back to their company.

With W. Morrissey becoming a free agent once again, there shouldn’t be any shortage of suitors for his services. Whether he ends up in WWE, All Elite Wrestling, or elsewhere, perhaps a reunion with his long-time tag team partner and friend nZo is in order. We’ll find out soon enough.

Morrissey spoke with WrestleZone last year about his goals for IMPACT Wrestling, detailing why IMPACT was the right spot for him. Morrissey said the company took a chance on him and aimed to show they made a good investment.

“IMPACT was the right spot for me because they gave me an opportunity and that’s really all I was asking for coming back. Luke Gallows, he gave me an opportunity on a show, I took that and ran with it and then IMPACT, they gave me an opportunity. They took a chance on me and I’m going to make sure that risk they took on me pays off big time. So, I really like their product, I like the talent there, I think they have an incredible, talented roster on both sides and I really like their television product,” Morrissey explained, “so when they gave me an opportunity, I said yes, this is something that I want to try.”
