The Hardys: Sting Wanted To Dive Off The Window Ledge On 3/23 AEW Dynamite

Sting continues to amaze wrestling fans decades after he was a top star in WCW.

The 63-year-old legend remains featured in All Elite Wrestling, and he has delivered some stunning moments during his run with the company. He thrilled viewers when he leapt off a balcony and hit a Splash on Andrade El Idolo through a table at AEW Revolution. Apparently, “The Icon” had his sights set on pulling off an even more crazy dive.

During an appearance on Talk Is Jericho,The Hardys discussed the Texas Tornado Tag Team Match on the March 23 episode of AEW Dynamite, where they teamed up with Sting and Darby Allin to face the Andrade Family Office. In one highlight, Jeff Hardy jumped off a window ledge and hit a Swanton Bomb on The Butcher and The Blade while they were laid out on a tables. Both brothers recalled how “The Stinger” wanted to dive off the ledge.

“Even that Swanton from the window ledge, I mean, it was so sketchy up there,” said Jeff. “It was like not even a foot wide. But then Sting that day said, ‘If you don’t wanna do it, I’ll do it. I’ll dive on a group of people.”

Matt then recalled how “The Icon” was eager to do the spot, but Allin had practically volunteered Jeff to do it instead.

“They were talking about it, Darby said, ‘I found this really cool ledge, this is one you could jump off, maybe onto a bunch of guys, whatever,'” said Matt. “And you could see Sting, he’s like looking back and you could tell his wheels are turning. He looks at me and he goes, like very aggressively, he goes, ‘Matt, you don’t wanna jump off that, do you?’ And I go well if it fits, I mean I will. It’s not really my wheelhouse so to say, but if it fits where I jump off, I will.

“He says, ‘I’m sorry, I mean the reason I’m saying this is I’ll do it. I’ll do it if you guys want me to.’ And Jeff had already kinda been half-ass volunteered by Darby to do it anyway with the Swanton.”

The older Hardy brother went on to praise Sting, as he stated that working with the former world champion has been “a thrill.”

“He’s the best, man,” said Matt. “It’s weird, Sting kinda like falls almost a generation ahead you and I in some ways, and he’s just still out there and he’s so committed to performing and he’ll take chances. And he’s there to help other talent and he’ll give input and he goes about it with the best attitude of all time. He’s just so amazing to be around and it’s been truly just a thrill being able to work with him.”
