Ruby Soho Ditched The ‘Happy To Be Here’ Mentality, Found A New Level Of Viciousness Against Riho

The Watch List takes a look at what matches you should be watching while you’re at home and they come recommended by your favorite professional wrestling stars.

WrestleZone recently spoke with Ruby Soho, who picked some matches from her All Elite Wrestling run that she considers as career-defining moments.

“I think I have three in particular that I can think of that really kind of define my career. I think my match at Arthur Ashe Stadium against Britt Baker really, really defined how hungry I was and still continue to be since arriving at AEW,” Ruby said. “It was a match that was very physical and it was there was it was a big match for us being the first time that we were at that arena and with a huge crowd, a lot of eyes on us.

“And then, you know, going into the next phase of my journey would be my match with Kris Statlander during the TBS title tournament. I feel like at that time I was really coming into my own and really getting used to the environment and to the people around me and making friendships and stuff like that with Kris,” Ruby explained, “being able to show the world what I have been capable of, and her pushing me to that point. So it’s a match that definitely stands out to me for that reason.

“And then very recently, my match with Riho, I think that that sticks with me as a performer and for me in this phase of my career. When I first got here, I was very much just happy to be here. And I think that was a new level of viciousness that I was able to bring out and that Riho definitely brought out in me. My gosh, that girl is small, but she is mighty. It was a different, different level of physicality than what I’m used to or I think the fans are used to seeing from me. So it’s not necessarily any more the happy to be here mentality, the making friendships mentality,” she stated. “It’s more so, now I’m tunnel-visioned on to being successful.
