RUSH Wants To Wrestle In AEW, Hopes To Face CM Punk And Other Top Stars

RUSH has returned to the ring, and he wants to prove that he’s an elite in-ring competitor.

The former ROH World Champion went down with a knee injury in August 2021, and he missed the rest of the year. He has wrestled in a few multi-man tag team bouts in Mexico, but he hopes to return to the spotlight in a major promotion.

In an interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, “El Toro Blanco” made it clear that he wants to compete in an AEW ring and face the company’s top stars. In doing so, he’d hope to show everyone that he’s the best in the world.

“I want to wrestle in AEW,” RUSH said through a translator. “I want matches against CM Punk, Bryan Danielson and Kenny Omega. Everyone in AEW will learn, when you mess with the bull, you get the horns. I feel better than ever and I want to conquer the world, especially the USA. I was away from the ring for a long time, but now it’s time to show everyone who is the No. 1 wrestler in the world.”

Now that he has fully covered from his knee injury, RUSH has his sets sight on making “big things” happen, and he teased his next move is coming soon.

“Big things are going to happen,” RUSH said. “Very soon, people will learn what I’m going to do next.”

RUSH already has one clear tie to AEW; he used to frequently team up with Andrade El Idolo during their days in CMLL, and they were also stablemates in Los Ingobernables.
