It appears that WWE has lined up the next three challengers for Roman Reigns unified WWE Universal Championship this summer.
If you’re waiting for Cody Rhodes to step up and challenge The Tribal Chief, reports suggest you might need to keep waiting.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Head of the Table’s upcoming title defenses are as follows:
- Money in the Bank: Roman Reigns vs. Riddle
- SummerSlam: Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton
- Clash at the Castle: Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre
Like everything else in WWE, things are subject to change, and these plans could change in the coming months before these three Premium Live Events take place. Meltzer reiterates that “none of this is close to etched in stone.”
If this is the case, one has to wonder what the plans are for Cody Rhodes following his Hell in a Cell match with Seth “Freakin” Rollins. Perhaps a certain briefcase is in the future of The American Nightmare? We’ll find out soon enough.
