Mister Saint Laurent On Microman: This Is Not A Novelty, The World Deserves To Know About Him

Microman will make his debut in Philadelphia at MLW’s Kings of Colosseum, and MSL can’t wait for the rabid fanbase to get a look at one of wrestling’s most exciting talents.

MLW COO Mister Saint Laurent recently sat down with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard to discuss all things Major League Wrestling, including his role as Microman’s hype man. Mister Saint Laurent said South Philadelphia’s appreciation for Lucha Libre is notable, and he expects it will be on full display when Microman performs at the 2300 Arena on May 13.

“It’s interesting because when you look at the history of the 2300 arena, which people of our generation probably still think of as the ECW arena, it’s known for a lot of things,” Mister Saint Laurent said. “Hardcore wrestling and the fans being so passionate in South Philly, but I also think the fact that Lucha Libre is so popular in the United States now you have to owe a lot of that to the fans in South Philly, who saw Rey Mysterio first and Psychosis first and so many more, and really appreciated what they brought to the table.

“So I think they have a long-standing appreciation for Lucha Libre. And not just Lucha Libre but like cutting edge innovative, pushing the limits Lucha Libre and what could be more extreme more pushing of the limits than a man that’s three feet tall. 62 pounds. Second-generation wrestler, just an incredible athlete, the skill that he has. This is not a novelty. This is not a gimmick. Yes, he is tiny, but he’s an incredibly talented athlete that the world deserves to know about. So it’s kind of my job to go out there and bang the war drums and make sure everybody finds out about Microman.”

Mister Saint Laurent goes on to say that Microman is a wrestler that you must see in person to understand his greatness and he’s very excited about what he’ll bring to the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia on Friday, May 13.

“In terms of the new generation, you’ve got Lince Dorado making his MLW debut. It’s a super-stacked card,” Mister Saint Laurent said. “I mean for me as a kid growing up staying up till three in the morning to watch ECW on the Sunshine Network. Every time I go to Philly, it’s extra special. The blood is pumping extra fast. And I’ve told Microman, you better be ready to bring it. This is the place and he’s excited too. He’s very young. He started wrestling young and his father was a very accomplished wrestler in Mexico as well. But you know, Microman is the real deal. You have to see him in person to really understand his greatness. So definitely for me to finally bring them into the 2300 Arena. From the second I found him in my head. I was like, oh, when he goes to Philly, it’s gonna be so great.”

Microman signed a multi-year deal with MLW in February and made his debut on the February 23 episode of Fusion, teaming with Aramis & El Dragon to defeat Arez, Gino Medina & Mini Abismo Negro. Microman will be in action at Kings Of Colosseum on May 13.
